Apogee Announces New Peripherals for iOS

In the last two weeks, Apogee Electronics, a long time provider of quality pro-grade sound interface for Apple computers, has announced two new input devices for iPads and iPhones.

The first, Apogee Jam was showcased in the unveiling of the iPad 2 last week and is compatible with the newly released GarageBand. It allows guitarists to experience first-hand Apogee’s legendary sound quality on the go, for a very consumer friendly price. The plug-and-play, 99$ device will connect to your iOS device of choice via the dock connector, or to your MacBook laptop through USB (on which it will also be compatible with Logic/MainStage). Release date: March 31st.

Mike, Apogee’s new microphone for iOS devices is also coming later this year. The company promises the pristine sound quality delivered by their PureDIGITAL technology, and says Mike is suitable for podcasting, vocal recording as well as instrument capture. The device will come with a desktop stand as well as a clip, and will require no configuration.
