Biography
Based in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region of Ontario, Canada, Aaron has been a part of the electronic music scene since early 1999. In 2001, Aaron tried his hand in producing music. Coming up with plenty of experimental ideas but nothing significant, he placed production aside and began working on his mixing skills. In 2004, Aaron began releasing his own personal promo mixes to the public and by 2005, Aaron was able to open for the legendary Airwave at Viva Nightclub in Toronto, Ontario. The experience he had playing in front of an extremely large audience, was unlike anything he had ever thought it out to be, and by the end of his set he knew that this would definitely be something to pursue even further.
Though his roots were generally of the trance and techno genre, over time Aaron took a strong liking to a couple forms of progressive and electro house music. By fall of 2006, after playing at several other shows around Southern Ontario, Aaron joined the fine community of InLineDJ.com and started up his own radio show called “Volumize” which now airs twice a month on El Paso’s 1nationunderhouse.com
After nearly 6 years since his first attempt, Aaron tried to get back into producing his own music again in 2007. The extra years of experience with electronic music definitely paid off as he was able to complete his first 3-track EP called “It Is Getting Dark” and have it released in July of 2008. Aaron now works for the Guelph, Ontario based labels, Amplified Digital and 4Play Trax in the Artists & Repertoire division, scouting out new unsigned talent to bring to the label’s attention.
In January 2008, Aaron became a resident DJ for The Purple Room which is part of Waterloo, Ontario’s Revolution Nightclub. During that time Aaron played several shows throughout 2008 and up until the summer of 2009 in Waterloo, and at times, was even asked to play a few shows in Montréal, Québec. Into it’s 3rd year, Aaron was able to take Volumize to the next level by bringing it to iTunes and having it not only as an internet radio show, but a regular podcast too! The show, since then, has seen many talented guest mixers, both world famous as well as new and upcoming names!
The fall of 2010 marked the return of Aaron’s Friday night residency at Revolution Nightclub’s Purple Room as well as two more releases on Amplified Digital. The first being his double CD mix compilation titled “Dusk vs Dawn” and the second, his first trance EP titled “2 Long 2 Wait”; both of which can be found on any digital music download store!
