The Day Has Come...for Sela & Briggs **UPDATED!!**

2008-03-14, by Ben

Well, you can't say we didn't warn you! Fresh off the remix of Carl B's Justice, Tom Sela is back on Fraction Records . But wait, there's more: he has teamed up with fellow InlineDJ artist HarrisB! And it gets even better: the outcome is EPIC!!!.

We're very proud to announce the release (well, it's still doing its promo run!) of Sela & Briggs - The Day Will Come.

The tune, already getting massive support from the likes of Gareth Emery, Matt Darey, Mark Sherry, Lee Haslam, M.I.K.E, Alucard and Ronski Speed to name only a few, is the 8th release on the Signalrunners-owned label Fraction Records.

Luckily for all of us, The Day Will Come is offered in three flavours. The Tom Sela Mix, a dark mixture of melody and a huge hands-in-the-air build-up topped up with very tasty electric guitar chops, will be the A-side of the release. On the flip side, we find the Harris Briggs Mix, a driving and even darker blend, much more percussion oriented this time, but just as effective. And finally, accompanying Harris’ mix on the B-side is a very (and I mean VERY) nice surprise by a newcomer, M Waering. A few of you might remember M Waering from the exquisite ‘5 Terre’ on JOOF Records a few months ago. Forget what you know. His remix of TDWC is so chunky and so electric post-breakdown, you’ll be left stunned and wondering what hit you!

All in all, this release is a must for any trance aficionado. A peak-time tech-trancer with a very melodic side. Top stuff! Congrats Tom & Harris

Ibiza: The End of an Era

2008-03-14, by InlineDJ Team
As many of you are starting to pick out a destination and and plan your summer holidays, we thought it wise to bring you the latest news about what’s going on in Ibiza.

The “white isle”, which welcomed over 4.5 million visitors in the 2007 season, has initiated a systematic shut-down of club life occurring after “normal” local club hours, putting the party on hiatus from 6AM to 6PM.

After worries from the local authorities regarding the increased violence in recent years and the drug trafficking that plagues the balearic island’s tourism industry, as well as complaints from residents and less “nightlife-inclined” travelers, the locales of San Antonio, San Josep and Ibiza town are taking measures to ban “daytime” clubbing.

Home to world-famous clubs Amnesia, DC-10 and Bora Bora, Ibiza wishes to better the locals’ quality of life at the expense of some of its trademark attractions. All of the aforementioned clubs have received fines in the past and were forced to temporarily (1-2 months) shut down business in early summer 2007.

Be sure to make informed decisions when picking Summer Holidays 2008 locations to avoid disappointment, and travel safely...

:)

Moby @ SAT, March 8th - A Review

2008-03-10, by Martin

Late Arrival...

The crowd had to be patient on saturday night to see their favorite DJ & producer, due to the horrible snow storm that evening. Moby was scheduled to start at midnight, but as soon as we got there, they announced that set was delayed by an hour. Moby's flight from Toronto to Montreal had been cancelled, and the train ride between the two cities took an astounding 4 hours more than usual. The result : Moby showed up at 3AM and played for about an hour until the police shut him down!

The show...

MOBY was waiting in Toronto to board his flight but all planes were grounded! So he took a train, in which he waited for 9 hours! With that kind of hardship, waiting times and horrible weather conditions, what do you think happened when he took control of the decks at 3AM? Everything you can imagine of a DJ like MOBY! Originality, magic music, cult songs, incredible presence and a crazy crowd that was longing for him; a few braves that conquered the snow storm to see the legend! Among the tunes he played: a remix of Samba de Janeiro, the well-known Porcelain, Born Slippy by Underworld and many more incredible songs made the hour absolutely fantastic.

You can watch a video interview with Moby on http://video.webpresse.ca/.

Opening DJs: New Ravers On the Block

First of all, I have to say these guys did an amazing job! A lot of people were not happy to see play them longer than originally intended, overlapping MOBY's time. But I can already imagine the kind of night they had. You have to entertain everybody, waiting for MOBY, for more than 3 hours! Congratulations guys, you did it! Music was good and you kept everybody in the mood.

InlineDJ Artists On The Air – Update!

2008-02-22, by Ben
Just a little parenthesis to let you know about two new additions to the list of radio shows by InlineDJ artists!

The first one is a well-established, bi-monthly radio show (the 2nd, 4th and occasional 5th Sunday of the month) hosted by Redstar called “Aura Sessions”. The show, already on it’s third year of existence, is broadcast on Party107.com and ETN.fm from 4PM to 7PM EST (9PM-12AM GMT) and features the best and the brightest talents the trance community has to offer!

The second show is a brand new offering by our very own Harris Briggs. “Blue Mondays” is a 2-hour show where Harris explores various genres that tickle his fancy, ranging from progressive and house to hard trance in the first hour, while he receives an international guest in the second. Not wanting to let the cat out of the bag, Harris promises a few upcoming guestmixes by HUGE artists returning to the electronic music scene after a several-year hiatus. Be sure to tune in every last monday of the month on globalbeats.fm.

Redstar Joins InlineDJ!

2008-02-21, by Ben
We won’t blame you if you’ve never heard of Redstar before, but you can be certain that the name will soon be everywhere! We’re very pleased to announce that Steve Bolger, better known to the world as Redstar has joined the InlineDJ ranks.

Ever since he was 11 years old, Redstar’s attraction to electronic music has guided his path. Now aged 20, he runs his own label and radio show on top of producing trance tunes that appear on labels such as the almighty Discover, Mondo and leading UK label, Deep Blue (Solar Stone’s label!).

In early 2005, Steve became A&R for the now-defunct Sential Recordings, and soon took the reigns of his own label, Red Force Recordings. Already on its fourth release, Red Force Recordings promises to bring us the best melodic and driving trance tunes, with the occasional venture into progressive styles. Featuring well-established artists as well as upcoming talents, the label is gaining support from the cream of the trance DJ community!

New Red Force Release: Shadow Rider - Blue Horizon

2008-02-11, by InlineDJ Team
Good news Sportsfans! A new release on our very talented DJ Redstar’s label, Red Force Recordings, is finally available for purchase! The fourth release on the label, Shadowrider - Blue Horizon, proves to be a hit amongst DJs and fans alike!

Ronny Neumann's (a.k.a Ronski Speed) latest offering comes under his old Shadowrider guise. Known for a long-running track record of beautiful and powerful productions, this release follows suit as one of his best.

Shadowrider "Blue Horizon" is an effort dating several years back, featuring a rawer sound with solid hooks and a catchy lead. Luke Terry gives "Blue Horizon" a bit more punch as well as an edge while keeping things uplifting. Kenidel Lopez offers a much lighter, introspective interpretation, featuring a gorgeous breakdown and a rich atmosphere. Vandit star Giuseppe Ottaviani adds his own unique touch creating a driving, euphoric experience. Finishing off the release is upcoming progressive producer Adymus, who delivers a beautiful, deep interpretation. All in all, there's something for everybody, whether you're into melodic, full-on or progressive trance.

So far, the release has been gaining massive support for the top jocks: Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten and Dave Pearce to name only a few. The track is available today on Audiojelly and should reach all other digital stores by February 25th.

Album Release: Cape Town - Aviateur

2008-02-11, by Ben
It doesn’t happen very often in anyone’s lifetime to have the opportunity to work with a person who’s work we admire; and probably even less often resulting in the release of an album! We are extremely proud to announce the official (as of tomorrow) release of Ferry Tayle & L-Vee/Airwave’s project Cape Town’s artist album titled Aviateur. The title, french for aviator (to put forward the common origin of the members of the team) is an invitation on a odyssey; a voyage for the senses...

Time and time again, artists have come out with albums of their own productions that failed to meet expectations. This album is NOT one of those; it delivers! It gave me hope in a genre I was slowly drifting away from. Aviateur is a definite must for any trance (and other) fans.

The trip begins with Pitstop [Ambilifter Mix]. From the first notes, you know you’re taken on a journey; an invitation to discover your inner self. Incredibly lush pads and a gentle uplifting melody will put you in a dream state. The following track is Ferry Tayle’s “Neverending Story” mix of Métaphorique. A rainy day. Piano. And we’re off again with a very smooth intro, followed by very uplifting rhythms. Cape Town as we know and love them.

Unlike the second track, Touch The Skies, Talk To The Stars starts off with a 4/4 beats, and then breaks into a string-and-pads break of astronomical proportions. Then comes the track that bears the album’s name. A deeper kick, but still a dreamy atmosphere.

The fifth track is probably the one that had most of us hooked on (the new!) Cape Town. Proglifter was quite the sensation when it came out already two years ago, in 2006, and it’s power is still felt in every play. A perfect synergy of L-Vee’s experience and brilliance, with Ferry Tayle’s vivacity and uplifting roots. If you’re a fan of Proglifter, you will certainly love this album.

Half-way through the album now, we are taken back to Métaphorique in it’s original mix this time; much more club-oriented. At this point, the album has really picked up and taken a new direction. Co-Pilote, a nice reference to the album’s theme, is very driving. Darker percussion and an edgy kick. A very bouncy lead gives for an nice energetic track.

Ferry Tayle’s remix of Cinema comes next--the track is largely responsible for the albums very existence. Years ago, Ferry contacted L-Vee to remix his song, Cinema, he had produced some time before, under a guise he had now abandoned. Upon hearing Ferry Tayle’s production work on his original tune, L-Vee found the motivation to produce this sound once again. The rest, as they say, is history...

The last three tracks, Albatros, Pheonix Tears and the original mix of Pitstop (this one’s especially nice to end the album with) are probably yours truly’s preferred songs of the album, but i’ll let you the priviledge of, like when visiting a new location, discovering them for yourselves.

Overall, this album gets an easy 9/10, if only for it’s beautiful melodies and the magnificence of the story it tells.

The digital album is available for purchase, starting February 12th 2008, from Bonzaï/Camouflage.

Check your favorite audio store!!!
Enjoy and let the dream begin...

Omni Update!

2008-01-30, by Ben
It might have been a while since news about Omni appeared on here, but we can assure you, he’s been hard at work producing new dance-floor destroyers! Here’s what you can expect from him in the next few months.

Firstly, Omni’s newest track, Electric Music, will be released on January 30th on Ambiguous Digital , a sublabel of Elektrofone Records. The original release will also include remixes by Alice & The Serial Numbers and by Max Miles. Another label, DNT Music Factory , also picked up the track for a release with remixes by Gabriel Batz and Nick Bugayev this time (to be released about a month later).

To celebrate the release, Elektrofone Records organised Chemical V.3, to be held at Velvet Night Club in Montreal on February 1st. For the event, Omni will be mixing alongside Diplexer and PB Lowrez . Cover is 5$ and there’s a special gift for early birds, so get there early!!!

Omni also recently signed another track, “Rocking Monster” with french label Absolut Freak Records. The track will be pressed to vinyl and will be available from your favorite record shop before long.

Finally, Omni will also be remixing one of the latest offerings from the canadian label 4Play Trax. “Feels Good”, from the Toronto-native Che Dubois, will be released with remixes, in March! Enjoy!
